Being In A Long Term Relationship When You're In Your Teens

I have been with my boyfriend now for nearly 4 years. His name is Tom and he is an actual cutie patootie. We started out as friends, actually we met because he started dating one of my other friends (awks) but luckily for me that didn't work out and two years later we got together! When people find out how long we've been together they usually say something along the lines of "really?!" "that's so cute" or even "how do you do it?" I don't know really. I'd be lying if I said I never think about it. As a young person you want to experience as much of the world as you can, I've just realised I'd rather do that with him.

I think it's interesting how society's views on relationships have changed over the years. My Nan married my Grandad when she was only 19 back in 1964 but that was kind of the norm, almost expected of you back then. Now it's gone almost the complete opposite way where it's kind of weird not to be single when you're young, not to use tinder or go on dates with lots of different people. I don't think either way is better than the other, everyone is different and should do whatever suits them, but I do think there's a sort of belief that if you settle down with someone when you're young then you're boring, but I don't think thats really fair or true!

"Why don't you just be single and have some fun?" So I can't have fun if I have a boyfriend? We actually have so much fun. The best thing about being so close to someone for so long is all the inside jokes we have and all of the things that are "our things". We love watching youtube videos together especially Casey Neistat and H3H3, we enjoy listening to Ice Cube and Blink 182, we go on adventures (we've just come back from Amsterdam) and believe it or not we go on nights out too! It just means I go back home with him rather than a random stranger.

It's not all plain sailing of course, like all relationships we've had our ups and downs, some wobbles and even doubts, but so far we have always got through it! The thing about being together when you're so young is that you still have so much growing to do. We're both different people to who we were 4 years ago but so far we have grown together and I hope that continues. Nobody knows where we will end up in life, especially when we're only 19, but right now I am just enjoying everyday spent with Tom!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Can you relate? Maybe you're in a long term relationship yourself. Let me know in the comments below!

My Amsterdam Look Book

It feels like FOREVER since I last did an outfit post (okay it was actually in June but that's still quite a long time ago.) Anyway, if you are following me on any kind of social media then you will know that I spent last week exploring Amsterdam! I really loved all the outfits I took with me so I thought I would share them with you! Now a little disclaimer: please do not laugh at me because of my bum bag. I was being a proper tourist and also I am really conscious of people stealing my stuff so I wore my bum bag all the time I was out and about!

GREEN HALTER NECK JUMPSUIT AND GREY CARDIGAN

Jumpsuit: £17.99 from Bershka
Cardigan: £7.99 from H&M
Shoes: £6.99 from Shoe Zone

Sunglasses: €10 from The Amsterdam Experience

Necklace: £2 from Depop

For our first day away I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable enough to wear on the plane and whilst walking around the city, but something that was still stylish and made me feel great! This green jumpsuit was an obvious choice for me! it is one of my favourite pieces of clothing that I own because I feel it really compliments my body (do you know how hard it is to find a jumpsuit that actually fits when you're only 5"3!) and is soo comfy! I'm also in love with the colour. Even though it was super warm in Amsterdam last week, I decided to bring a cardigan with me because I feel the cold very easily. It's a good job I did bring it because it was freezing when we went our evening canal tour! I like to wear this outfit with my blue slip on shoes but this was a terrible idea because they cut my toe from all the walking and I had to deal with a bleeding foot on the way home! Not pretty.

70s STYLE TOP AND DENIM SKIRT

Top: £3.99 from H&M
Skirt: from Bershka but unfortunately they don't stock it anymore!

Shoes: £47 from VANS
Bum Bag: from River Island but again is out of stock!

Ok I know I've featured this top before but I am in love with it so had to bring it with me! I love love love the 70s style and I think this combination of the patterned top and skirt really creates some 70s vibes. Also this was the first time I wore this skirt without tights or leggings so sorry if I look slightly self conscious here - I was so worried about showing off my bum! These pictures were taken at the Royal Artis Zoo, I don't know how well you can see them but there are two elephants behind me!

PATTERNED TROUSERS AND TURTLE NECK CROP TOP

Trousers: £17.99 from New Look but they don't stock them anymore. Here are some similar and £10 cheaper!
Top: £4 from Boohoo

Day 3 was our last day so again I was looking for something comfortable to wear on the plane and for our last bit of exploring! I decided to go with these beautiful trousers and pair them with a plain top so that all the emphasis would be on them! I decided on a crop top because it was so hot! I would usually wear this outfit with my blue shoes slip ons from the first look but we were doing a lot of walking so I decided that my vans would be a better idea!

If you want to see more of what I got up to in Amsterdam then you can check out my vlogs here!

Thanks for reading? Which look was your favourite?

See you soon!

How To Travel For Less

Hi guys! So by the time this goes live I will be living it up in Amsterdam with my boyfriend, Tom. (Expect a blog post on that next week!) Neither of us have a lot of money at the moment, but we still wanted to go away this summer before he starts his course in IT and I start my second year of film school because we're both going to be hella busy! We weren't sure if we were going to be able to because we always just assumed that going abroad = a lot of money, but we found ways to do it for much less than expected and so we are able to go to Amsterdam for 3 days. I thought it would only be fair to share these holiday secrets with you, my lovely readers, so you can save some pennies the next time you go away! Also a special thanks to Fee Nunn who helped me a lot with information for this post!

1) Holiday Pirates

No not actual pirates, it's a website! I know the term "pirate" makes it sound dodgy af but it's really not! It basically finds loads of holiday vouchers from around the web and compiles them all in one place. You can find entire holidays, flights or even just days out/nights away on this website for really cheap! Tom and I booked a night in a hotel for valentines day with spa access and breakfast and it only cost £33! The only problem with this is that it usually has set dates that you have to go on the trip and they are usually only a month or so in advance, so you have to book it quite last minute! You can find their website here: http://www.holidaypirates.com (this is not sponsored btw, I just love this site!)

2) Groupon and Wowcher

A bit similar to Holiday Pirates, Groupon and Wowcher work with companies and give you vouchers for things like holidays, experiences and products. The companies are usually happy to do it because it's good advertisement for them. There are loads of holidays on these sites that are really cheap - in fact we booked this trip to Amsterdam through Groupon! Similar to Holiday Pirates though you can't always choose the dates you go on so make sure you are flexible if you want to book through these sort of things.

3) Go All Inclusive

Going all inclusive saves you so much money when you are actually on the holiday. It means you don't have to worry about buying breakfast, lunch or dinner (although sometimes you might prefer to have a meal elsewhere) and often you get a free bar too. We did this on our trip to Zante last year (read about that here!) and it meant we saved money to spend on excursions and nights out! I definitely would recommend going all inclusive especially if you are going a way for more than a week.

4) Comparison Websites

This is especially important when it comes to booking holiday insurance so you can decide what's the best deal for you and make sure you're not getting ripped off! I think it's a good idea to use comparison websites as much as possible for instance for the flights and the hotel as well to make sure you are making the most out of your money!

5) Book Direct

This is something Fee has done and she has managed to have 4 holidays this year! Although as I said before it's good to use voucher and comparison websites, booking direct from the airline and/or hotel can save you a lot of money too!

6) Travel To A More Unusual Place

Places like Spain, Greece, Cyprus are more expensive because they are typical holiday destinations. Why find somewhere more unusual like Poland or Sweden? It will be cheaper and there will be less tourists!

7) Don't Go During School Holidays

This can be a bit trickier if you are a student like me because usually you can't afford to take time off of school/college/uni for some time in the sun! But if you are able to then it is WAY cheaper to book your holidays in term time rather than the holidays.

Thanks for reading! I hope it helped you plan your cheap get away! Do you have any more tips on how to go away for less? Let me know in the comments!

See you soon,

Beth xx

My Everyday Makeup Must Haves

This week I'm super busy sorting out everything for my trip to Amsterdam next week. One of those things I've been sorting out is what make up I'm going to take. I like to think I have a pretty impressive sized collection of make up, however I do find myself going back to the same things time and time again. So, I thought I would share with you guys this week my everyday make up must haves!

Foundation: Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation

I have tried many different foundations over the years, but the Max Factor Lasting Performance is something I know I can rely on! It's really high coverage which is perfect for me because I'm not a fan of my natural skin and it also lasts a long time which is great for someone like me who is always on the go. I even wore it for my dance show this year because I knew it would do me well!

Concealer: Maybeline Super Stay 24 Hour Concealer

I like to use this especially under my eyes (I have what my dad calls the "Bayes Eye Bags") and it works really well. I like to get it a shade lighter than my skin so that it's illuminating. However I do find that when it gets to the end of the bottle it can be quite dry and you have to work quickly or it becomes hard to blend in.

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Kit For Brows And Eyes

I got this for my birthday last year and have used it practically everyday since. The little brush it comes with makes it so easy to get the shape you want and amazingly I haven't hit anywhere near pan yet with either shade even though I've been using it every day for the past 8 months! I have a whole post on how I do my eyebrows with this palette so if you'd like to read that then click here.

Contour: Sleek Contour Palette

I really like this palette for my contour because it is creamy and it comes in lots of different shades so I can decide how strong I want my contour to be that day!

Highlight: Nyx Iluminator in Ritualistic

I do also use the highlighter in the Sleek palette mentioned before but to get that extra glow I use the Nyx Iluminator and it is AMAZING. It has a slightly gold tint to it which is beautiful.

Eyeshadow: Morphe 35T palette and Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

If you're subscribed to me on youtube then you will already know my obsession with the Morphe palette...like it's blossomed into a full on love affair now tbh. It has 35 taupe shades and I love every single one of them. The mix of matte and shimmer shades means you can use it for any occasion, day or night. I like to mix it with the lighter shades from my Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette to get my favourite look. I also have a blog post dedicated to the Naked palette so if you wanna check that out click here.

Eyeliner: Rimmel London Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner

I feel like 95% of people have this eyeliner? It's a classic staple that I absolutely could not live without! I have used it pretty much since the beginning of time and I probably won't ever stop using it.

Mascara: NYX XXL Lush Lashes Mascara

Honestly this mascara is the best one I've ever tried. It makes my lashes so volumized and it's something you can layer without it becoming to clumpy which is super important for a mascara.

Lipstick: NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Soft Spoken

This is my favourite lipstick of all time. The muted colour means it works well for both every day and going out, it's matte without crumbling or cracking off my lips and it's so light I barely feel like I'm wearing anything!

I hope you've enjoyed this post! What are your make up must haves? Let me know in the comments below!

LUSH Don't Look At Me Face Mask Review

This week's blog post is a bit different and very cool because my 13 year old sister is helping me to review this product! So yay! Everyone applaud, say hello to Loz and then lets get on with this review!

Beth's first opinions: I bought this face mask when I went to London to see The Last Shadow Puppets. (Check out the vlog here) It had been really hot for once and my skin was super oily so I decided I needed to sort it out! The lovely lady in Lush recommended the Don't Look At Me face mask which she said helped her out when she had the same problem! I was enticed by it's bright blue colour and lemony smell that I decided to buy it! At first I was surprised at how small it was for the price (£6.95!) but actually there is a lot of product in there, enough to last you for at least 5 pamper sessions I'd say!

Loz's first opinions: I think it's really weird that you have to keep it in the fridge. This made it really cold when I put it on my face which at first I didn't like but actually it was really refreshing. As I was putting it on I could feel all these lumps and bumps in it which I haven't had in a face mask before. Also I feel like a smurf because it is so blue!

Beth: I really loved how it felt on my face. I have never tried a Lush face mask before (shocking I know) and I was pleasantly surprised at the rich texture of it, something you don't get from the 99p Tesco face masks! It really does feel like something you get when you go to a spa. Also it overwhelms you with this really fresh smell which I guess is due to those lemons!

Loz: It smelt really nice, like one of those wipes you get after you've had a meal at an Indian restaurant. I like them! It felt compact on my skin and after about 10 minutes it started to feel really tight but I guess that means it's working.

Beth: After taking the mask off, my skin felt so smooth! (my favourite part of doing face masks is stroking my face afterwards haha) However it did make me go quite red and felt a bit burny after a while which was worrying as I do have sensitive skin, but it went down after a few minutes luckily. My skin didn't feel oily at all this morning which is fab! However I do still have quite a few break outs - but it's also my time of the month so I don't think there's much a face mask can do about that unfortunately! I've got a lot of product left in the tub so I'm going to use it once a week for a while and hopefully my skin will clear up!

Loz: It took quite a long time to get all the blue off of my face but once I did I noticed my spots had gone down straight away and my skin looked and felt so much better! If I had to say a bad thing about this mask it's that it sticks to the hairs in your nose so try not to get it up there, also don't get it in your hair because that is really hard to get out!

We hope you enjoyed this review! Have you tried any of the Lush face masks? Let us know in the comments! Also let me know if you'd like to see more appearances from Loz in my blog!

See you soon,
Beth (and Loz) xx
